If you’ve been reading my daily messages for any length of time, you might think I’m anti-dentistry. After all, I quit doing it myself and I help dentists all over the country get out of it too, if that’s what they want to do.
For the record though, I’m not anti-dentistry, I’m just anti-suffering. And dentists work REALLY hard. Many of them do suffer. And that’s why I do what I do.
When it comes down to it, the bank doesn’t care whether you had to work hard or not for the money you put into it. No one else cares either. And that means YOU are the only one who cares. And that also means YOU are the only one with the power to do something about it.
It’s great to make $100K a month in your practice…unless you’re sending $80K or $90K of that right back out in expenses. If that’s the case, you’re working REALLY hard for what amounts to a similar net people get working jobs that DON’T come with the amount of stress you handle, or the difficult patients, or the insurance headaches, or the physical strain of dentistry.
It’s not your fault, of course. But you have to zoom out and ask yourself if this is all you want for your life.
If the answer is YES, and you mean it, then that’s the right answer for you. I certainly respect that.
If the answer is that you want something more, that you want to make some sort of adjustment so that your profit is leaps and bounds beyond “average,” that your lifestyle becomes something far beyond average, then you’re the only one who can do something about that.
I’m spending the weekend in Charlotte with a room full of dentists who are here to investigate what we have. They want something more and they came to figure out if Dental Sleep MBA™ IS that thing.
What is YOUR next action step to create the business and the life you want? There’s no right answer here, there’s only the right answer for YOU.
